First off, the word \u00e2\u20ac\u0153easy,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d after weeks of holiday cookie and candy making, made my flour-dusty apron strings untangle. Secondly, after weeks of holiday cookie and candy making, the idea of something more healthful (as is always a consideration as New Year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s approaches),was mighty appealing. Third, I LOVE granola, and it has long been on my bucket list of things. And fourth (as if I needed any more reasons at this point), I had, unbelievably, all the ingredients for this granola already in my kitchen! Can you believe it?!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.womansconed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG-1263.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1987\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.womansconed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG-1263.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.womansconed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG-1263-288x300.jpg 288w, https:\/\/www.womansconed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG-1263-144x150.jpg 144w, https:\/\/www.womansconed.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/IMG-1263-400x417.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[I]f it sounds strange that I had dried cherries, whole almonds and even hazelnuts already at the ready, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s because I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d gathered up these items for other things I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d made (fruitcake, spiced nuts, biscotti) in recent times. Here, I put my own spin (and some additional nuts) on things, by also adding whole walnuts, which I love in granola. It had the proper level of crunch, and tasted just right, not too sweet, spiced nicely with the cinnamon and honey and, I believe, the key successful ingredient to this recipe was the one teaspoon of salt.
